2010 SoCal TT

This weekend, my friend Brad and I took part in the SoCal TT, an organised classic car drive from Los Angeles to Los Alamos a small town to the north in Santa Barbara county. The drive would take us on kinds of picturesque back roads and take in over 500 miles on the round trip. All of this would be undertaken in Brad’s 1969 Triumph Spitfire that I have helped to rehabilitate over the last couple of years.

We had a fantastic time and the car performed wonderfully. It was great tour of some very pretty parts of southern California that I hadn’t been to before and some great deserted back roads to have fun on. It was a very friendly group of people taking part and a mix of old cars in various conditions.

I have uploaded the photos we took to the gallery here.

Can’t wait to do it again next year!

UPDATE: There is also now video!

Photos

I’ve been on a couple of photography trips in recent weeks with my friend Perigil in an attempt to flex my photography muscles and also get some use from my SLR. All the photos are in the gallery, but I thought to post some direct links here as well.

We went to Joshua Tree National Park, about 120 miles east of L.A. three weeks ago and got some great shots of the Mojave dessert scenery, the titular Joshua Trees as well as some old abandoned mine equipment from the gold prospecting days. See the photos by clicking here

Then today we visited The Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens in San Marino, about 15 miles away on a gorgeous L.A. spring day. Many flowers were out in bloom and we also took a wander through the portrait gallery. Photos here

We are hoping to make this a semi regular thing so more photos to appear in the gallery, gallery.milestonkin.com in the near future.
